Chimney Chase Cover Replacements
A factory-built chimney is protected by two components: the Chase Cover (a metal pan that covers the entire structure to keep water out) and the termination cap (which is attached to the flue pipe inside the chase to seal the vent).
Chimney Chase Top Damage
A chase cover is a metal pan on top of a prefab chimney to prevent water, debris, and animals from entering the chase. These covers are usually made of galvanized metal and if not properly installed, can hold rainwater and eventually rust. This will lead to holes in the chase cover that will result in water leaking into the attic and fireplace. This will cause extensive damage to the firebox and surrounding frame, ceiling, and attic, costing thousands to repair.
Our Certified Chimney Professionals are trained to spot these problems and, in most cases, can prevent future damage. Our chase covers include a “cross-break” and drip edge that sheds water off and away from the chimney and flashing. Chase covers can also be powder-coated in a variety of colors.
